FOR SALE: Vintage 8-Track of Great Movie Themes by the American POPS Orchestra on the AMPEX label (Cat# AMP 80002). This is a particularly interesting piece — Ampex was one of the pioneering manufacturers of magnetic tape and recording equipment, and their 8-track releases are considered high-quality pressings.

Track Listing:
P1: Climb Ev'ry Mountain (Sound of Music) / The Yellow Rolls-Royce / The Rain in Spain (My Fair Lady)
P2: Chim Chim Cheree (Mary Poppins) / Ship of Fools / Goldfinger
P3: The Yellow Rolls-Royce / Hallelujah Trail / The Greatest Story Ever Told
P4: Chim Chim Cheree (Mary Poppins) / Theme from Zorba the Greek / Love Theme from The Sandpiper

The album features lush orchestral arrangements of beloved 1960s film themes: Goldfinger (James Bond), Chim Chim Cheree and The Rain in Spain from the golden age of Hollywood musicals, Love Theme from The Sandpiper, and more. Beautiful, cinematic orchestral music.
The Ampex label is less common than RCA, Columbia or Capitol releases, and the all-black Ampex cartridge is distinctive and handsome. This one is in excellent cosmetic condition — the label is crisp and the shell is clean.

Untested.

🎬 Ampex was a pioneer of magnetic recording technology — a heritage brand.
