A rare opportunity to own a piece of mobile internet history: the Metricom Ricochet Wireless Modem. This external modem was a pioneer of "high-speed" wireless data long before 4G or Wi-Fi became household names.
Selling for $100 (OBO)
Sold as-is due to age (untested).
This set is in excellent cosmetic condition and includes the original retail box and the official Ricochet documentation/manuals.
What’s Included:
Ricochet Wireless Modem: The iconic external unit with the adjustable antenna.
Original AC Adapter/Battery Charger
Original Retail Box: Features the classic Ricochet "footprint" branding.
User Documentation: Original manual/installation guide.
Collector’s Note:
This device operated on the Metricom mesh network, which was decommissioned in the early 2000s. As such, this is being sold as a historic collectible/museum piece and is not functional for modern internet use. It is a perfect addition to a vintage computer collection or a tech-themed office display.
