FOR SALE: Original 8-Track of Freddy Fender's Before the Next Teardrop Falls (1975) on ABC Dot Records, manufactured in Canada by GRT of Canada Ltd. (Cat# 8310-2020).
Freddy Fender's Before the Next Teardrop Falls hit #1 on BOTH the Billboard Hot 100 AND the country charts in 1975 - a rare crossover achievement. The album also features Wasted Days and Wasted Nights and Wild Side of Life. His blend of Tex-Mex, country, and blue-eyed soul made him a genuine phenomenon.

Track Listing:
P1: You Can't Get Here From There / Wasted Days and Wasted Nights / Wild Side of Life (Begin.)
P2: Wild Side of Life (Concl.) / Roses Are Red / After the Fire Is Gone
P3: I'm Not a Fool Anymore / I Almost Called Your Name / Before the Next Teardrop Falls
P4: Please Don't Tell Me How the Story Ends / I Love My Rancho Grande / Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye

This is a Canadian GRT pressing - GRT (General Recording Tape) was Canada's primary 8-track manufacturer in the 1970s. The distinctive teal/green shell is instantly recognizable as a GRT product.

Condition is fair: the front label has wear and tearing (common for GRT pressings of this age), but the spine label which reads 'Before the Next Teardrop Falls / Freddy Fender / ABC Dot 8310-2020' is in better shape and fully readable. Untested.
#1 Pop AND #1 Country simultaneously in 1975 - a true crossover legend.

Sold as-is.
