FOR SALE: Vintage 8-Track of Swingin' Stereo Sounds Vol. 2 on Polydor Records Canada (Cat# 3836 007, 1972). This is an early-70s Polydor easy-listening compilation featuring orchestral and instrumental versions of contemporary pop hits by various European and international artists. Track Listing: P1: Heaven on Their Minds / Black Magic Woman P2: House of the Rising Sun / Love Story (Begin.) P3: Love Story (End) / Malaguena Salerosa / Passion Flower P4: Montego Bay / Mamy Blue. Front label also lists: Boston Pops, Spinning Wheel, James Last, Xylos Inc., Aquarius, Walk On By, Tijuana Taxi, Zorba's Dance, Roberto Delgado, Max Greger, Superstar, Wimoweh, Hugo Blanco The track listing is a genuinely interesting mix: an orchestral take on Black Magic Woman, House of the Rising Sun, the Love Story theme, Malaguena Salerosa, Bobby Bloom's Montego Bay, and the French pop hit Mamy Blue. The front label also lists artists including James Last, the Boston Pops, and Max Greger - pointing to this being a showcase of Polydor's European easy-listening roster. This was the type of 'demonstration disc' compilation hi-fi enthusiasts and stereo retailers used to show off 8-track systems in the early 1970s - hence the 'Swingin' Stereo Sounds' branding. A genuine and somewhat unusual period piece. Cartridge shell is fair-to-good - label has some creasing and a small tear at top edge, but core track listing is readable. Untested. Polydor Canada pressing - a legitimate vintage piece from a major European label's Canadian operation. Sold as-is. Local pickup Oakville area or shipped. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ • All tapes are sold as UNTESTED VINTAGE ELECTRONICS unless noted otherwise.
